"Besides being gifted musicians, Tim and Debbie are community builders."
– Elizabeth River, Point Reyes Station
This group generates the best in community coming together."
–Daniel Patrick, Stinson Beach, Murphy Productions Arts & Music
"Tim and Debbie are magicians – they take thirty un-auditioned strangers and within ten minutes have them singing together like they've been practicing for weeks! It's a heavenly experience and every participant leaves each session high on life and singing."
– Harriet Moss, West Marin Fund
“You can tell the quality of a community by the music it makes. It elevates the experience of one another, our neighbors, by the contribution of doing it and the joy it affords. And especially Harmony singing where you make music, and do it with the constant awareness of the contributions of and synchronicity with your fellows (who soon and inevitably become your friends). I so love the good heart and talent of Debbie and Tim. And a nice addition in our group is that we are from both Bolinas and Stinson, and Common Voice draws the two communities further together in such a warm, easy and permanent way.”
– Jamie Sutton, Stinson Beach
“In 2013 I was one of the original members of Common Voice, a joyous workshop of song open to all. Common Voice deserves the support of all of the institutional funders in West Marin to make it a permanent cultural treasure of West Marin.”
– Tom Silk, Bread & Roses
"I have had one of my most wonderful singing experiences ever. About 40 folks from Stinson and Bolinas have gathered once a week to create music that is powerful and transforming. Debbie Daly and Tim Weed are professional musicians, and they give scholarships for the choir. I was a scholarship recipient this session and I wouldn't have had this rich musical experience without that encouragement."

“Common Voice has changed my life. I was looking for a group singing opportunity because I missed singing with others which was a big part of my youth. I attended the fall session in Pt. Reyes and was the highlight of my week. I loved it because it made me so happy (and I have been grieving my husband of 42 years who died two years ago). I am commuting with a car pool from the San Geronimo Valley to Stinson because it is so important to me. Debbie and Tim are very professional and organized and their website is great because we can hear and rehearse our parts at home.”
– Diane Matthew, Mount Barnabe Farm, Forest Knolls
“The choir has brought my voice to life again after being dormant for about ten years. It fills a need in my soul. The benefits carry through all week until the next meeting. Joy is one of the main returns and a very deep sense of participation in community. It gets me out of my little self, particularly because of the music that is presented from cultures from all parts of our planet. . . African, Native American, gospel, etc. The music is very easy to learn, without having to sweat over printed pages. . . . it is immediately rewarding.”
–Devi Weisenberg, Inverness
"I have received a beautiful gift with becoming a member of Common Voice and sharing the joy of making music within the warm and welcoming community of Stinson, Bolinas and Point Reyes Station! I've been introduced to communities who extend kindness and respect with generosity and joy I never would have been aware of without the context of Common Voice. It is a one of a kind!"
– Annette Pirrone, San Anselmo
“We could not be more thrilled with our participation in Common Voice, and we have encouraged everyone we know to join us. Tim and Debbie encourage us to sing and FEEL the music. Tim encourages the value of singing in our lives as an experience of joy and healing and community. He is full of life and inordinate talent beyond the pale. Debbie is his perfect counterpart, being the organizer, and making sure we get our notes and words right! We are particularly enthusiastic because we have felt a serious lack of community-oriented functions in Stinson Beach in the last years. Already we have found new friends of all ages who have been drawn by word of mouth and reputation. Debbie and Tim are remarkable in that they are making a big effort (and succeeding, I might add) making a life and career of their exquisite talents in the arts. I cannot imagine anything more beneficial to our communities.”
–Will & Ginny Felch, Stinson Beach
"Common Voice is a wonderful, inclusive community gathering that provides both wonderful music and a feeling of cohesiveness that is very special. I am delighted by the warm way in which the co-leaders encourage singers at all levels to feel confident in enjoying joining in this amazing community success story, bringing together the communities of West Marin in a joyful, enthusiastic and satisfying group activity that I hope will be come a permanent tradition."
–Clodagh Orton, Stinson Beach
“An hour and a half of pure joy. All you need do is show up – and you get the help you need.”
–Enid Stevens, Stinson Beach
"At last, a wonderful explosion of song bringing people from the West Marin community together. All one has to do is look around this group spanning ages from 20-year-olds to 80-plus-year-olds and know this is a great community project! How else could we get the folks from Stinson, Bolinas, Inverness & Point Reyes in the same room with the biggest smiles and toe tapping one can imagine?!
And what a joyous way to forget your troubles through song! In the past I have been too intimidated to sing in a group before, never trusting my voice, BUT with the help from Tim and Debbie I feel like a star! Not only is it fun to be a participant, I’ve made new friends and get to see old ones.”
– Nancy Jo Olin Heldt, Stinson Beach
"I am outrageously blessed to be singing in the fabulous Common Voice Choir! Every Tuesday night I get high, just rehearsing with this whole gang of folks at the Dance Palace, where Tim and Debbie stir us up, egg us on, and make us into a glorious chorus!"
–Elizabeth River, Point Reyes Station
"Our singing together really opened the door for us again as a family."
– Beth Nelson, Muir Beach
"Words alone cannot express my gratitude for the continuing opportunity to sing with the Common Voice family. I am finding My Voice and blooming at a ripe age of 64. Yes 64!"
